Washington, D.C–
The result tonight seems about the same as the last few times the Wizards have faced the Heat, another L. So what happened tonight in D.C? Bam Adebayo is what happened, as the Wizards dropped to 1-3 against the Heat this season and more than likely completely out of playoff contention completely.
Miami who played most of the second half without Jimmy Butler just seemed to find ways to score in bunches and when the Wizards needed a bucket, the usually solid Bradley Beal was ice cold in the second half going 1 for 13 to end the game and breaking his 21 game consecutive run of 25 point plus games.. Let’s just say tonight was just not it for the Wizards.
The difference in the game also came from the perimeter as the Heat were led by Duncan Robinson’s 7 for 11 from long range with 23 points. This was something the Wizards had no answers for at all tonight.
It really feels good,” Robinson said about finally getting a win away from Miami. “We’ve had some quiet plane rides back home. Hopefully, this one is going to be more lively.”
Another big difference in missing on a possible W tonight, is that the Wizards had just three scorers again tonight. Beal, Davis Bertans and Shabazz Napier. It was if the Heat had answers for everyone else on that Wizards bench. Napier had his best game in a Wizards uniform with 27 points.
Next up for the Wizards is the woeful Knicks on Tuesday night. This is another must win game if there is any talk about the post season over these next five games.
