Springfield, VA–
It’s been an amazing week of both WLL and PLL action at the St. James in Springfield, VA and today in the womens and mens semifinals the stage became set for an amazing day of finals on Presidents Day.
Today the featured match up came against New York and the California Palms. There was only one way to describe this game.. all Charging.
Emily Hawryschuk scored seven goals on seven shots and Madison Doucette had an amazing 21 saves for a 18-11 victory to send them to the finals to face the Charlotte North led Boston team.
Hawryschuk was practically unstoppable during the second half of today’s game and the final score seemed a bit closer than this game really was.
From the beginning of this tournament play, many in attendance had hoped that Boston would face New York so that Izzy Scane could match-up against Charlotte North for the championship. After today’s game expect to see quite a bit of offense from both teams.
Later in the day, make sure to catch the PLL Championship game featuring Boston vs Utah.
Boston then took the lead in overtime thanks to some amazing play by Ryan Drenner. Colin Kirst made four of his 17 saves in the extra period, giving Boston their ride to the Championship game with a 24-23 win.
