As the 2006 NFL regular season is right around the corner, the Dallas Cowboys opened training camp today with optimism that they can turn a whole bunch of lemons into a good batch of lemonade according to Cowboys Head Coach Bill Parcells, who joked with the media in a short session today.
”I don’t care how many lemons you got, or what the quality of the lemons are, you’ve still got to make the lemonade,” Parcells told them. ”This is the time to make it.”
So why is Parcells joking along side of owner Jerry Jones? Well one name comes to mind, Terrell Owens. With the start of practice today in Oxnard, all eyes will be on Owens… who some think will have the resurgent year that is long overdue.
The Cowboys went 9-7 last season, losing steam down the stretch. They missed the playoffs after going into the final month with a chance of claiming the top seed.
Some good news has come out of camp already as they agreed to a deal Friday with top draft pick Bobby Carpenter. He and all other rookies were expected be on the field today.
