Washington, D.C–

When it comes to midnight madness, it is usually a good party to kick off NCAA College Basketball season. Well tonight Georgetown had a party like no other when it came giving new hoops Head Coach Patrick Ewing a warm welcome with big ole party featuring Yo Gotti performing his hit song “Goes Down in the DM.”

It is really hard to say what will become of this team that Ewing has assembled for the upcoming season, but it is safe to say they have at least 8 games to figure it out. With the exception of Syracuse prior to the Big East schedule, Georgetown has a schedule that is not going to get them anywhere near the Top 25 with some of schools preseason RPI’s.

With the usual fun and games of half court shots, dancing and a night hosted by Big Tigger, it was time to see what Patrick Ewing had to say about his team for this season.

“It’s a pleasure to be back here where it all started, ” said Ewing and we are ready for you to get started with us.

Look for leaders like Marcus Derrickson and Jagen Mosely along with Jesse Govan to be the core of this team.

Most people were hyped for the performance by Yo Gotti, who released his first album Youngsta’s On A Come Up in 1996 and has gone on to release six more albums including the acclaimed I Am in 2013 and, The Art of Hustle in 2016. Most recently, his collaboration with Nicki Minaj, “Rake It Up” went platinum.

The men’s team will open the season on Nov. 12 at Capital One Arena against Jacksonville. The women open the season Nov. 14, hosting Howard.
