Washington, D.C–
Tonight was the start of the new G League in D.C and chance for fans to see the first ever game at the Entertainment and Sports Arena located in Ward 8 on the campus of the old St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. Unfortunately, the outcome was not exactly how the Go-Go would have liked as the Greensboro Swarm escaped with a 107-105 victory.
For the Go-Go the team put together a solid effort starting the game quickly from the perimeter hitting two three pointers in the first minute and keeping pace with the quick Swarm team.
Chasson Randle led the Go-Go with 37 points in what G0-Go Head Coach Jarrell Christian said was a strong first effort from his team.
“We played as hard as I could ask these guys to play today,” said Jarrell. “Greensboro is a very good team and will be one of the teams we battle with this entire season,”
Devonte Graham led the Swarm with 31 points, seven rebounds, six assists and four steals. It was his two jumpers and the four free throws in the two-minute overtime. Chinanu Onuaku had 12 points and 14 rebounds to round out the scoring for the Swarm who go to 2-0 after the victory tonight.
