Washington, D.C–
When Abe Saperstein founded the team in 1926, and they played their first road game in Hinckley, Illinois, on Jan. 7, 1927, no one would have suspected the team to continue to entertain families over 100 years later. Since then, the Globetrotters have entertained more than 144 million fans in 122 countries and territories worldwide – introducing many to the sport of basketball. They are the true pioneers in popularizing the slam dunk, fast break, the forward and point guard positions, and the figure-eight weave. There is nothing like the Globetrotter style of basketball anywhere.
During the past few years the Globetrotters have added some of the top female talent to hit the courts to include Ace, Swish, Hoops and TNT. All four players will appear at different shows on the 2017 tour. There is no doubt that Ace in today’s game was great addition and something that fans like and see makes a difference in the overall family value of teaching kids that everyone can make it to the pro level in sports with any kind of background.
Ace, the Harrisburg, PA native, not only led two schools in scoring, she is a great role model for all up and coming young basketball players with degree in business from Point Loma Nazarene University.
For the rest of the Globetrotters show expect some of the same antics you have seen in shows over the years, flying confetti, water and popcorn and fun with the referees and even a little Taylor Swift song sung by Ant in the middle of the game.
So if you are looking for something fun for the entire family, the Globetrotters still have it all these years.
