Washington, D.C–
For most of the game tonight the Hoyas managed to play a very solid game and held the 15th ranked Bulldogs to a very low scoring affair. This was another one of those close games the Hoyas just let slip away. One they should have won. It’s almost if the record will remain broken when it comes to should have or close enough for the Hoyas.
Georgetown had several opportunities in the final seconds to break the tie take the lead but one step out of bounds perhaps cost them the game tonight.
Kamar Baldwin and Sean McDermott combined to score 26 points in the second half, and the 17th-ranked Bulldogs overcame a 14-point deficit to beat Georgetown 69-64 Tuesday night in Big East basketball.
McDermott broke a tie on a 3-pointer with 49 seconds left, sending Butler ahead 67-64.
“We just made a few mental mistakes in the final minute tonight,” said Hoyas Head Coach Patrick Ewing. ” There were a few questionable calls that didn’t go our way in the final minutes either.
With the loss tonight by the Hoyas they fall to 12-9 on the season and 2-6 in Big East Conference play.
