Fontana, CA–

Kyle Busch used some late race energy to take home the checkered flag in today’s Pala Casino 400 at Auto Club Speedway. Busch would become the last winner at this track today as it marks the end of the 2-mile track before it is torn down and replaced with a half mile short track with a tentative 2025 reopening.

Busch who came from 32nd back in the field to mark his 19th consecutive season with at least one victory which was previously held by Richard Petty.

Busch didn’t even seem like a likely candidate to even have a shot at winning today as he was in 28th place when the green flag restart with 20 laps remaining was dropped.

The victory today by Busch was 2.998 seconds ahead of Chase Elliott and marks the 61st victory of Busch’s career.

“This one is special, said Busch. To be able to close this place out in a RCR car is amazing. These guys did an amazing job at the end when it didn’t look too good for us.”

6 out of the Top 10 cars finishing the race today were Chevrolet.

Kevin Harvick closed out his racing career at Auto Club with a 5th place finish.
