Miami, FL–

There have been plenty of things to get excited about in Miami lately, more so in the Brickell City Center area, than anywhere else, but it is the La Centrale that has everyone talking about it over its first few weeks since opening February 16th. Everything authentic Italian under one roof. Under that roof is one heck of a space, 40,000 square feet to be exact.

So where do we start with all of these goodness? 14 different Italian eateries, five bars and a personal shopper who will buy whatever ingredients you want from a special grocery list menu while you’re eating. They will even provide you recipe cards on how to prepare those ingredients if you want ideas.  Forget just the food, they take the thinking out of preparing a meal as well. Of course there is a premium for this, but its Miami, that shouldn’t surprise you, now should it? If you ask for it, they most likely will deliver it for you. They even said they would deliver an entire bag full of prepared ingredients for our staff to cook dinner in our residence condo at the attached East Hotel and Residences. We like options, so should you.

We recommend starting on the first floor in the morning with an expresso or freshly baked Italian pastry or one of their Nutella filled pastries. Tons of sandwiches baked on fresh Italian breads are offered along with freshly sliced meats and cheeses that are sure to send your taste buds popping. There is also outside dining outside of the café area to enjoy your breakfast in the sun if so desired. The kitchens are presided over by Tuscan born Vincenzo Scarmiglia who has a team of chefs from different regions of Italy along with a French chef.

Level two is the place for  the premium restaurants, a signature Aperitivo Bar and chocolate and gelato eatery run by Italian chocolatier Venchi (pick up one of the chocolate “Cuban” cigars flavored with orange).

An entire floor designed for sommelier- led wine tastings and pairing, along with a wine shop featuring 500 labels. If this doesn’t say exclusive, then nothing else much does. A performance stage for live music and entertainment. 1,000 Italian retail products. There is even a cooking and event studio. If you really wanted to learn authentic Italian, now is your time, no more excuses.

The entire space is expected to completely open by late Spring, but for now as of February you can enjoy all of the amenities we described on the first and second floors.

La Centrale is open from 7am-midnight, with the meats and cheeses starting for serving at 10am daily.
