Washington, D.C–
Usually when we talk about franchise records, it tends be things to brag about… well tonight, the Wizards certainly can’t brag about a 134-96 blowout or the fact that they tied the franchise record of 16 straight losses in a low. This is a new low for a struggling team.
The fact that this game was never close after the first few minutes, has sort of become common practice over the past few games, starting with the blow-out in Dallas.
The Lakers were missing Anthony Davis because of an abdominal muscle strain. Washington was without rookie Alex Sarr, who had a sprained left ankle. Chances are, that neither one of these two players were going to change the outcome or make this game any closer than the 45 points in the hole the Wizards found themselves in by the 3rd quarter.
LeBron James had 24 points and 11 assists before resting for the final quarter and giving way to his son, Bronny James, who scored a career high 5 points tonight… This will be one that Wizards fans remember.
When Bronny entered the game chants of MVP could be jokingly heard and the airball from the left three-point mark came with a set of boos from the Wizards fans, as Bronny has been accustomed to for quite a few games this season.
Jordan Poole led the Wizards with 19 points
Washington trailed 78-45 at halftime, the most points the Wizards have allowed in the first half all season.
