Bradenton, FL–
After just briefly watching the past four games after the opening tip off for the Mystics, tonight, I wanted to sit back and watch the entire game and see how they matched up against a team that was 0-4 coming into the game and no Sabrina Ionescu in the line-up. End result, not as expected.
During the entire game, the Mystics seemed to lack the same energy they have seen over the past five games. Have the defenses finally found the key to stopping Myisha Hines-Allen? Not really, but it appears the Mystics finally had their night off on the court.
The first five games found the Mystics offering up a balanced act of scoring with Emma Meesseman and Allen being the leaders on the court, tonight it was the Liberty who did exactly that with Kia Nurse leading the fourth quarter charge.
Despite the 3-3 and record, the Mystics still have a lot left in the tank and are doing so without Elena Delle Donne, Natasha Cloud and Tina Charles this season. Some people had written off the team entirely this season, but the addition of players like Lelani Mitchell and the upstart play from Allen have changed the outlook from some of the doubters.
