Washington, D.C–

We haven’t even gotten to the first preseason game of the season and the Washington Mystics have quite a few things to figure out without Georgia Amoore and now without Aaliyah Edwards, both who suffered injuries during practice this week.

Amoore’s apparent ACL injury which occurred on the third day of Mystics training camp practice. Initially the team said they would review the injury and then just 24 hours later came back through an official release saying that the tear would force her to miss the entire season. There is no current timeline on the return even for the 2026 season.

The Mystics 6th pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft was figured to be a big part of the rebuilt offense that included Sonia Citron and Lucy Olson

The lower back contusion injury does not appear to be something the team expects her to miss more than a few weeks, but they did not rule out the possibility of it being longer with a reevaluation in two weeks.

The injury to Amoore could mean a good spot for Olson to make the roster and also fill big hole in the backcourt. Her first big test will come this weekend against former teammate Caitlin Clark when the Mystics travel in Indiana to face the Fever on Saturday at 1pm.
