NIKE FIT IS TAKING THE GOLF MARKET BY STORM
Once again, our staff at Pointed Magazine is dedicated to bringing its readers the hottest products for 2007. The staff at Pointed Magazine has reviewed all types of products in the past but here’s one that is sure to leave you looking sharp on the course without emptying your wallet at the same time.

For those who have read our detailed reviews on the Nike Golf product in previous seasons, our staff has emerged from a small break of reviewing golf products, but due to an overwhelming response from our readers to bring the Nike product back to our site, we decided to look at their Spring and Summer lines for 2007. What we found is a Nike that has kept core foundations for looks and adapted the Nike Fit technology for shirts and shorts that are the most comfortable ever.

Our first combination we had the chance to wear test was from the 2007 Tiger Woods collection. One thing we noticed in the DRI-FIT thin striped polo is Nike is taking advantage of the hot green colors and mixing them nicely with a little black to that it matches almost every part of the outfit from top to bottom. We also took the product out four two rounds of golfing under 70 degree temperature conditions and the results matched their other Dri-Fit products from previous reviews. The ability to wick the sweat from the body was second to none. Who wants a soaked shirt heading inside of the clubhouse anyway. We liked the way the shirt retained a new brand new look after two back to back rounds and two trips to the washing machine. All of the shirts in striped polo collection are priced at a MSRP of $75 and again they are well worth every penny spent.

If you really like the Nike performance of the Tiger Woods Collection of shirts, then you will also like the shorts that have the best material we have seen used in any of their shorts. The Dri-Fit Premier Tech Shorts are just like the material that Nike has been using in some of their pants for the past season or two, but they have never transferred it to a short that was this comfortable with a flat front. No pleats, just a long short that we would encourage wearing off the course as well. Kick on these shorts with a pair of black sandals, and they are great for summer nights at the club, or kicking by the pool in Las Vegas or in your own clubhouse cabana.

From the Nike Tour Collection, our staff wear tested the white men’s sphere dry shirt with the mapping technology. This has to be one of the best shirts that Nike Golf has released to date. Using the Sphere Dry fabric which draws sweat from your skin to the garments surface for fast drying and combining it with the Macro React technology with the laser cut vents in the back of the shirt below the neckline, cooling off on the course has never been this simple. This shirt is like having a personal air conditioner attached to your back that opens and closes when your perspire and when you do not. The shirt weighs just 4.43 ounces and is 100 percent polyester. The shirt is available in S-XXL and has a MSRP of $70.00

If you like the old style of golfing, then you will want to match the shirt with Nike Golf’s Scottish Inspired plaid shorts. With a 58 percent cotton and 42 percent nylon blend, these shorts not only will give you a stand-out look on the course, they will feel better than most in the golf category. These shorts give a nice fitted look and are not too baggy on the legs like some other golf shorts. We liked the fact that after 10 rounds of sweaty golfing in Florida and 12 washings, they still looked brand new. Any golfer’s closet will welcome the addition of these gems. The shorts carry a MSRP of $55.00 and are available in three different colors, anthracite, white and sea grass and white and orchid mist.

If you have liked the women’s Nike Dri-Fit golf products we have featured previously, then you will really enjoy that the Nike Fit process has become more advanced and through our testing processes on and off the course, it will be hard to find a product that matches this comfort anywhere from their competitors.

Our first women’s shirt was an instant hit at recent media outing where our staff member had the chance to play a round in the Nike Sphere Macro React Short Sleeve Polo. There is one word to describe this shirt, hot! The color combination of coral rose and white topped with the Johnny style collar makes this shirt in our staff’s mind the best Nike has released since introducing the women’s line of golf clothing. Again Nike combines a need for sport and fashion and gives women a great shirt that performs with the opening and closing technology on the rear of the shirt. The cooling on the back is the best performance a golfer could ask for.

Nike has also worked on making their women’s skort better season after season. With the help of LPGA Pro’s Grace Park and Michelle Wie, the design is exactly what they personally like to wear in the fashion sense and performance is standard Nike that consumers have grown to love. The new colors like the Spark Skort we tested is just one of five different colors available that will certainly appeal to all golfers, novice and veterans.

There are four different styles of Skorts available this Spring and Summer and the tech woven skort, which we did not test seems to be a hot ticket item with its wide bottom, its great for golf on the course and looks cool enough to throw on for a day of relaxing at the country club.

For Spring and Summer 2007, Nike continues to focus on innovation and technical products that keep them keep consumers cool, dry and comfortable.  Technologies that are resonating with consumers are Dri FIT UV, Dri FIT Body Mapping and Nike Sphere. Nike has expanded its offering of these technologies in both men’s and women’s.  For those who like the luxury in the Tiger Woods Collection, even Nike has adapted to become more technical in their 2007 collections.

So if your looking for colors that are clear, rich and vibrant, and remain that way wash after wash and round after round, then there is not an article of clothing in this collection that doesn’t work for all golfers. Their perfect off-white colors that are balanced with neutrals of black, olive khaki and linen, give golfers the best options they have seen in a long time.  Nike Golf includes the hot colors for spring and summer and includes many of them with new colors like Coral Rose, Light Lava, Orange Peel and Tiger’s new red which they call “Razzle.

If you like the idea of putting together an outfit that works from top to bottom, Nike has you on their minds, because from Men’s to Women’s nothing in the golf market works both on fashion and technology like Nike. You will not be disappointed when all of their clothes are still in the closet a year later and you say, Wow, I am glad I brought that, and Damm if I don’t look and feel good too.

The only thing the Nike Golf apparel doesn’t do this Spring and Summer is take 10 strokes off your game.
