Okay, we must admit that the Nike Lunar Bandon has been one of the best all weather conditions shoes to date, but the Lunar Bandon 3 is much different than its predecessors. This one combines a lot of basketball like look along with the standard Nike Lunarlon technology we would expect from their running shoes. A trifecta per se; you can run, walk and keep your feet dry in total comfort on the course.
When this shoe was first released many people said it looked like a hybrid of the Jordan zip basketball high tops and runway boots. But the aesthetics don’t end there. These shoes let your feet breathe too. Forget suffocating your ankles, open the new Lunar Bandon and unzip and there are the soles and laces of the inner shoe right there.
Key features also include the full-length comfort sock liner and midsole create a large foot bed with exceptional cushioning for all-day comfort. The shoes also sport Dynamic Flywire technology that provides for better balance, smoother weight transfer, and a stronger push through impact.
One of the many things we liked about the shoe is that it is very streamlined in the fit, no extra bulk on the sides to make the weight of the shoe feel off centered. Once you zip this shoe, it is fitted and great for support and crushing the ball on the colder days this fall.
The Lunar Bandon also succeeds in another area: traction. Despite a couple slips on wet concrete, I found the grip of the shoe to be exemplary. This shoe hugs the grass and you will not feel loose at any point during any swing. Fairway, sand, rough, tee deck-all surfaces were concurred by this fine shoe. For those off the fairway golfers, say shallow creek, these are your shoes.
The only downside to the Lunar Bandon 3 we could find is the Lunarlon material in back of the shoe is a little soft for the outside conditions and will be prone to scuffing long term. Otherwise it has a great color combination and definitely could be worn off the course as well.
The Lunar Bandon 3 is a great all around shoe and each time they continue to improve on this model and make it stylish and yet the best all-around performer year after year.
