College Park, MD–

It didn’t take long for the Terp faithful in attendance tonight to figure how this game was going to end up. Another lopsided victory… but the Terps will take it as the final tune-up before the first test of the season against Marquette on Friday night.

The Terps were able to get all over A&M from the very tip and it wasn’t until the Terps pulled out to a 15-0 lead that the Rattlers figured they were going to need to find some other answers, or they were going to be down big before the half.

The Rattlers wen on 12-2 run of their own, forcing the Terps to make some changes and go to Julian Reese on the interior. They were unable to get a body on Reese or Derik Queen for most of the first half.

Julian Reese led a balanced attack and scored 21 points on 8-for-12 shooting.

Selton Miguel scored 14 points, Ja’Kobi Gillespie 12, Derik Queen 11 and reserve Rodney Rice 10 for the Terrapins who had 11 players score.

“I wanted to have some home games [to start the year],” Willard said. “We’ll probably do the same thing next year, besides the Georgetown game. … Last year, we just didn’t have control of the schedule.”

For the first time in program history, Maryland has started a season with three consecutive 30-point wins.

With the loss tonight for the Rattlers, they fall to 0-3 on the season.
