College Park, MD–

There have been quite a few things we have seen this season from the Terps, some good and some really bad. Today, the later one of these was on display, but the end result was not what we might not have envisioned happening after being down for almost 20 points in the first half.

The down to the wire game ended with another disappointing loss after the Scarlet Knights drew a charge call on Solomon Washington, that ended any chances that the Terps could send the game into overtime.

Maryland has had some issues holding on the ball this season and that continued today as they committed 14 turnovers and scored just 20 points, trailing by 19 points at the half. Simply put this is just not going to win many games in the Big Ten and hopefully Buzz will be able to work on those scenarios in the offseason.

“I was caught off guard in the first half,” Maryland head coach Buzz Williams said. “I thought the second half group was much more like what we had seen the last couple of weeks.”

Andre Mills and Solomon Washington led Maryland with 15 points each, but neither did it efficiently. Mills shot 6-of-16 while Washington shot 5-of-14.

With the victory today by Rutgers, they picked up just their second road win of the conference season. It also dropped the Terps to 4-14 in the Big Ten this season.

The Terps head out to Wisconsin on Wednesday.
