Tiger Woods said he isn’t sure yet when he’ll return to competitive golf as he rehabs from two back surgeries last year. But judging by his public demonstration of his game Monday at the par-three 10th hole of Congressional Country Club, host of June’s Quicken Loans National, he should take his time.

The golfing legend took a handful of practice swings and then struck his first shot. It landed short and in the water. He took a second try. Another splash. “All right, that’s good for me,” he said.
But then someone tossed him a third ball and the 14-time major champion took one final try. This one landed on dry ground—except on the steep embankment between the water and the green. And it rolled and rolled, joining Woods first two shots in the drink.
