Washington, D.C–
For the second game in a row the Mystics have not been able to find a solution to win a game in the final minutes in the absence of Elena Delle Donne. They need just one more victory to get into the playoffs, but it seems like its getting more difficult than it should be this late in the season.
Late in the fourth quarter, the Mystics could not find a way to stop Diana Taurasi as she led the way for the Mercury and finished the game with 25 points.
“We have to find a way to keep hold of the ball,” said Mystics Head Coach Mike Thibault.
“There were a few bad calls late in the game as well that didn’t help us much either. We need just one game to make the playoffs and it seems like it is getting more difficult than it should be,” said Thibault.
Kristi Toliver led the way for the Mystics with 21 points.
Next up for the Mystics, Sunday on the road against Indiana.
