Washington, D.C–
Another great day of ACC basketball is in the books and we have a great match-up tomorrow night lined up with the UVA Cavaliers set to match-up against top ranked UNC.
For the Tar Heels their absolute dominance in the game tonight certainly will have Virginia on their heels after UNC (27-6) reached its record 34th ACC title game and fifth in the past six years. But the Tar Heels have gone 0-4 in finals in that span, including a loss to the Fighting Irish a year ago.
“We know we will be ready tomorrow and either one of those two teams are going to make for a great game, said Tar Heels Head Coach Roy Williams
As we now know, Williams will have his hands full with the Cavs as they battled the Canes right down to the final minutes tonight.
Atlantic Coast Conference player of the year Malcolm Brogdon scored 24 points and No. 4 Virginia beat 11th-ranked Miami 73-68. Brogdon went 10 of 11 from the free throw line. Virginia reached the ACC final for the sixth time in school history. Last won the conference tournament in 2014.
The last time Virginia played in a game where each team shot over 50 percent was Dec. 7, 2013, against Green Bay.
