Washington, D.C–

While the Spirit are without several of their players who are away with the USWNT, the pattern seems to be the same, without their offense as well.

Today’s Spirit finish their twelfth consecutive regular season match without a win, and seventh draw. They had several opportunities to make something happen in the 84th minute, when Bailey Feist shook free down the byline. She was able to cut back right to Audrey Harding, but seemed to not like her options, she shifted the ball to Tara McKeown instead of going at goal and Tara’s shot flew into the air and over the goal.

Orlando has seen its share of woes over the past month, today was a chance at consecutive victories for the first time this season for Orlando (3-3-5, 12 points).

The Pride won at home last weekend for the first time, a 1-0 shutout of the Houston Dash at Exploria Stadium.

The Spirit (1-6-5, 9 points), 1-0 losers to the K.C. Current last weekend, haven’t won since their season opener vs. the OL Reign on May 1.

The Spirt will need quite a bit more from McKeown if they want to have any push for the playoffs. As of right now, the Spirit would not make the playoffs and the idea of possibly making another title run is very close to being off the table.
