Washington, D.C–

There have certainly been quite a few interesting Wizards games this season and tonight certainly featured quite a few things that no fans in attendance that would expected.

When Trae Young was ejected from the game for coming off the bench during an on-court altercation, it became the talk of the night, as Young has yet to play a game for the Wizards this season and was set to make his debut on Thursday night and already has been tossed from a game. This has to be one the stranger thing to happen to this Wizards team in quite a few years.

Just a bit after the ejection of Young and Houston’s Tari Eason a Wizards fan donning a John Wall jersey hit a half-court shot for $10,000 and just a bit later in the fourth quarter, Wizards debut night for Julian Reese was all but over, when he became only the second player to foul out on his debut night in ABA-NBA history along with former Big Ten player Zach Edey did in his debut season.

Alperen Sengun had 32 points and 13 rebounds, Kevin Durant finished with 30 points, and it was his finish late in the game that made a huge difference in the final outcome for the Wizards.

Durant added more drama to the game when a technical foul was called on him with 29.2 seconds remaining giving the Wizards one more lifeline that they were basically left for dead prior to that. Bub Carrington connected on the technical full shot and turnover by Houston with 9.9 seconds remaining turned into a bucket at the buzzer by Sharife Cooper to end the game.

Bilal Coulibaly scored 23 points and Sharife Cooper had 21 for the Wizards.

Will the debut of Trae Young happen now with the ejection tonight? Only a couple days will tell us if he is ready to go Thursday night according to the plans.

“In the NBA, being ejected from a game generally leads to a minimum one-game suspension, but the specific circumstances can affect the length of the suspension. This is what we will find out in the next 24 hours as to what the penalty from the league will be since Young was out of uniform and not currently active on the roster due to the injury.
