Mexico City, MX–
In a city known for its amazing Tequila selections, tonight it was known for a showcase game of basketball between the Wizards and the Heat. With the Wizards having a bit of offensive success coming into this road game, the Heat found a way to stop them again in the second half on their way to a 118-98 victory.
Washington who has seen quite an emergence from their young draft picks in the first four games, however they have not been able to find a way to put it together for back-to-back games from multiple players.
Tonight, it was Alex Sarr that gave the Wizards his best offensive showing of the early season with 17 points hitting on 7 for 11 from the field and adding 6 rebounds and 3 assists. His fellow countryman Bilal Coulibaly added another solid night with 22 points, but it was Bam and the Heat that did the Wizards in late in the game again.
Bam Adebayo scored 32 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, and it was he and Tyler Herro that combined for 30 of the 56 first half points that was the difference in the game.
Jimmy Buckets Butler had his ways too with 18 points. The real difference in the game? The bench and three-point scoring. Washington put together 28 points off the bench tonight and was a combined 7 for 35 from long range for a horrendous 20 percent.
Since this was considered a home game for the Wizards, tonight’s loss drops them to 1-3 at home and with Golden State looming on Monday, there is not much time for Brian Keefe to rally his team and find the winning ways back in D.C
