Wizards Fall to Pistons Again, 117-95

The Wizards Dropped another game to the Wizards for the Second Time in a Week

Washington, D.C–

For the second time this week, the Wizards faced the Pistons and for the second time they came up empty in a 117-95 loss that had them down by as many as 25 points in the first half.

Tristan Vukcevic led the way for the Wizards scoreing21 for the Wizards, who lost their season worst-tying 14th consecutive game. They continue to battle Indiana for the worst in the the league and still have NBA’s second-worst record at 16-53, Washington is two games from matching a franchise-record slide of 16 losses, most recently in March 2024.

The Wizards showed some signs of life in this game when they went on a 20-2 run to actually creep back in the game, before the half.

Sharife Cooper got his first NBA start as Alex Sarr returned to the starting lineup after a two-game absence. The Wizards played without Trae Young tonight and the lack of offense in that first half showed without him on the court.

Jalen Duren had 24 points and 11 rebounds and Detroit never trailed in a victory over the Washington Wizards on Thursday night, the Pistons’ first game since All-Star guard Cade Cunningham was ruled out for at least two weeks with a collapsed left lung.

Washington doesn’t get much of a break as they face the Thunder on Saturday night. OKC comes into D.C winners of 10 straight and a have a Western Conference best 55-15 record on the season.
