Washington, D.C–

Tonight, it was all about John Wall at Capital One Arena, a place that he made home for so many years, leaving Wizards fans with endless memories of one of the best guards in team history.

The current day Wizards were able to make Wall’s night special with a 109-99 victory over the Bucks and hold off a late surge in the fourth quarter.

The Wizards took control of the game before halftime, outscoring the Bucks 32-20 in the second to take a 14-point lead at the half. Kyshawn George had 13 points, while Justin Champagnie got in on the action and had 10 points by the half.

Tonight’s victory by the Wizards was the third this season over the Bucks, two of those games have come without Giannis in the line-up.

For the Bucks missing Antetokounmpo, who hasn’t played since last Friday due to a calf strain and is expected to miss 4-to-6 weeks has been a big difference in this team. In his absence, Myles Turner led the Bucks in scoring with 21 points plus a team-high 14 rebounds and 6 blocks. As a team, Milwaukee shot 41 of 98 (41.8%) from the field and 10 of 38 (26.3) from 3-point range, while getting outrebounded 61-43.

George led the way for the Wizards with 23 points, five rebounds, five assists, and a pair of steals. Sarr posted a 16-point, 17-rebound double-double with two blocks. Carrington had 13 points and six assists off the bench.

Washington has a chance to win three games in a row for the first time this season tomorrow night against the Lakers. Another big night at COA, as it could be the last time that LeBron visits D.C. Get your popcorn out, it’s going to be a great night in D.C
