Washington, D.C–
Sometimes returning home is exactly what you need. Just ask the Wizards, as a 1-3 road trip was less than they had expected, but a solid home win tonight over a Hawks team that was without Trae Young (flu-like symptoms) was exactly what the doctor ordered.
Tonight was a just another night at work for Bradley Beal, as he continues to lead his team as he has the past few weeks, tonight connecting on 35 points on a 13 of 21 from effort the field and going 7 of 10 from 3-point range.
Davis Bertans added 17 points, and Jerome Robinson had 14 for Washington. The Wizards began the night 4 1/2 games behind Orlando for eighth place in the Eastern Conference.
For the Hawks, they had a solid effort in the fourth quarter led by Rookie Cam Reddish, who scored a career-high 28 points on 11-of-17 shooting for Atlanta.
“We had the game in a pretty good spot and then we kind of relaxed,” Wizards coach Scott Brooks said. “When you relax, teams get hot, make a three, make a couple of threes and then they got hot. But I thought we made some big plays down the stretch.”
