Washington D.C–
In the series of playing back-to-back games against the same teams, tonight was much better for the Wizards in the performance department, because last night’s version was basically one of those games you would like to forget about and fast forward past the last season of tanking with the hope of getting that #1 draft pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.
Washington started tonight in another huge hole down 13 points early but like in quite a few games this season it was the late game mistakes that cost them the game down the stretch.
Chicago seemed to have gained that first quarter mojo back as they outscored Washington 16-4 to close the third quarter. Jones scored the last six points of that stretch, including consecutive layups in the final minute to make it 87-74.
Leonard Miller had a career-high 26 points and matched his career best with 11 rebounds as the Bulls controlled the Wizards down the stretch in route to a 119-108 victory.
Some of the positive things that continue to show on the court is the performance by Juju Reese who finished with16 points and 15 rebounds. His numbers may be one of the biggest upsides going into next season and having a solid off the bench presence for the first time in a few seasons.
As we wind into the final two games of the season, the Wizards can only hope the numbers are in their favor with the upside being extremely good if they continue to be the worst team at the end of the next two games.
