Washington, D.C–

The Wizards put a Stop to the Streaking Heat Behind Matthews, McRae and Mahimi

Were you one of the people that didnt give the Wizards a chance tonight against a red hot Miami Heat team in town? Well perhaps teams should rethink this put together with glue Wizards team with barely a roster to finish the game.. Well lets that one back and add Garrison Matthews, Ian Mahimi and Jordan McCrae to the scoring leaders and 2019 goes out with bang in th Wizards favor, 123-105.

Before the game started, Wizards Head Coach Scott Brooks said he just wanted to keep the game close in the fourth quarter, well they did more than that, they kept it their game with all three players making career contributions in route to one of their best games in the past three weeks.

Mahinmi was the first of the catalysts for Wizards offense tonight. The center, who hadn’t scored more than 17 points in a single game since the Wizards signed him in 2016 and has fallen out of favor of Brooks over the past two seasons due to injury and the emergence of players like Thomas Bryant, seemed to have found himself over the past few games. Mahimi finished the game with 25 points on 10 for 11 from the field.

For Miami, this was one of their worst performances on the season. The closest they would get would be 90-81 with a 12 point run by Tyler Herro, but that is as close as they would come the remainder of the game.
