Washington, D.C–

In a game where the Washington Wizards did not lead one time the entire night, they weren’t going to go out without a fight… that fight however was a little bit too late as they dropped yet another game at home to the Phoenix Suns, 130-123.

From the way this game started, you would have never envisioned the ending the way it was tonight, but for the last 5 minutes of the fourth quarter, the Wizards behind Keyshawn George and Alex Sarr sort found a second life to keep the Suns right on the edge of losing to the woeful Wizards.

George scored a career-high 24 points for the Wizards. They lost their eighth straight but snapped a stretch of double-digit defeats at three.

After the Wizards made one final push and moved to 120-117 following a 12-0 run late in the fourth quarter, Devin Booker dropped a baseline 3-pointer off Jones’ feed with 45 seconds remaining that gave back Phoenix’s two-possession lead for good.

Washington produced 18 points off Phoenix’s nine turnovers in the first half, but yet they still managed to let the Suns grab a 14-point lead at the half.

With the loss tonight, the Wizards embark on a 11-game road trip that has seen quite a few changes over the past couple of days to accommodate the fires in Los Angeles.

Here are a few of the changes to the next 11 games. This will not change any of the other games on the road trip.
