Washington, D.C–

The 2025-26 Washington Wizards opened their preseason slate today against the Toronto Raptors and boy… what a wild buzzer beating 113-112 finish to a game that was mostly a game controlled by the Raptors.

If you had a Sarr vs Sarr match-up being part of the game winner today on your Bingo card, well then perhaps go grab a few tickets this week for the mega millions, because no one saw the game ending like this today after the Raptors led by double digits quite a few times in the game.

Sarr who broke free under the basket took an ally-oop style basket with 0.8 seconds remaining on the clock to give the Raptors their 3rd victory of the pre-season.

Six Wizards players scored in double digit points, led by CJ McCollum who scored 19 points and got the start. McCollum showed fans why he could give the Wizards some offensive firepower this season.

While the Wizards showed some signs of improvement from last time including the performance by McCollum today, they certainly have quite a bit to work on by the October 22nd opener in Milwaukee and while no one wants to see a 16-66 finish as quite a few reports have come out this week, it certainly looks that it will take a lot for Brian Keefe to get out of the gate fast this season with some of what the Wizards put on the court today.

Washington has little time to regroup as they hit the road to face the Knicks on Monday night from MSG. This will be another test for the Wizards to see who might make the final roster spots against another strong Knicks team that has started the preseason 3-0.
