If Wizards fans are looking back to see who got the better of the two trades, they would have to say that Bobby Portis and Jabari Parker are the clear favorites as to a big difference for this team. Tonight it was Parker’s 26 points that gave the Wizards that final push they needed to grab a well rounded team victory, 135-121 over the Timberwolves.
“We have seen the difference Bobby brings when he is on the court. He just has that energy that all of the guys can benefit from,” said Wizards Head Coach Scott Brooks.
Karl-Anthony Towns led the Timberwolves with 28 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists. He had scored over 30 points in each of his last three games.
Derrick Rose scored 18 points off the bench for the Timberwolves, who have lost four of five. Taj Gibson had 14 points and 10 rebounds, and Andrew Wiggins had 14 points.
If the Wizards hope they can continue into the postseason, they will need quite a few more of these victories in the next couple of weeks to stay alive over the next 20 games. They are currently 4 games behind the 8th place Magic.
