Washington, D.C–
Just over 24 hours remain before the 2023-24 campaign kicks off for the Wizards and today, they not only re-signed Deni Avdija but set their opening night roster for the tip off set for Wednesday night in Indianapolis.
So… 4 year, $55 million extension? Is this actually worth it, or we will we see more of him on the bench again this season? While he did have quite a few amazing games this past season, he also had quite a few duds. These numbers would suggest much of that, but this year is different right.
Here are his numbers from last year, you be the judge on this one.
9.2 points
6.4 rebounds
2.8 assists
43.7% FG / 29.7% 3pt / 73.9% FT
With the contract extension for Avdija in D.C. through 2027-28, building the future in Washington around Bilal Coulibaly, Kyle Kuzma, Jordan Poole and Deni Avdija.
We will have our first chance to take a look at the team on Wednesday night in Indy and see if they are able to match up against another young team that they seemed to have their share of problems with last season.
