Washington, D.C–
You know that old saying or the New Year, out with the old and in with the new? Well, that was the vibe for the Wizards tonight as they were able to hold off the Bulls late and secure a 125-106 victory.
The Wizards saw the return of Jordan Poole and boy he showed that he was ready to kick off 2025 with a bang, leading all Wizards scorers with 30 points as well as hitting six 3-pointers and topping 25 points for a fifth straight game, the first such stretch of his career.
Alex Sarr added 11 points and 10 rebounds as one of seven players in double figures to help the last-place Wizards to their largest win of the season.
The big difference in this game was that the Bulls committed 20 turnovers and trailed throughout the final three quarters.
This also marks the first time since early December that the Wizards had a full line-up that included both Kuzma and Poole in the line-up together.
“We have a full roster to put on the court going forward. If Jordan and Kuz continue to stay healthy, we can get this going just like we have over the past four games,” said Wizards Head Coach Brian Keefe.
Chicago’s Zach Lavine led all scorers with 32 points on 12-of-20 shooting in the loss, while Coby White added 17 points and Nikola Vucevic contributed 12 points and 13 rebounds.
