Washington, D.C–

After a ridiculous 41-point loss to the Thunder last night, you had to wonder what the Wizards were actually going to deliver on the court. That game could have been one of the worst games to date for any Wizards team, but tonight was much different, only the results were the same.

Facing another team in the Minnesota Timberwolves, that has high expectations with the emergence of Anthony Edwards, the Wizards were actually able to compete tonight, but the problem was Edwards dropped 41 points in the 120-106 defeat. Edwards at times showed complete dominance of the Wizards defense with the ability to get in the paint with even three defenders.

In the final frame, Edwards went 6 for 11 from the floor and 3 for 5 from 3-point range to turn what had been a tight contest into a comfortable win. Edwards was also able to celebrate on more than one occasion coming down the Wizards end of the floor.

Kyle Kuzma scored 22 points and Jordan Poole added 20 in Washington’s seventh straight loss.

Washington did finish strong shooting 42.5% from long range (17 of 40), with all five starters sinking at least two 3s.

Last night Wizards Head Coach Brian Keefe’s press conference lasted exactly 44 seconds, tonight he seemed like what he saw from his young guys and a core that has the ability to shoot from long range.

“We chatted about the performance last night and its clear you guys can see that everyone made a difference tonight on the floor. There are a lot of things this team can do, and I want these young guys to emerge as the remainder of the season moves along,” said Keefe.
