Las Vegas, NV–
While the Wizards haven’t made any big splashes in the NBA Free Agency pool this summer, they are ready to embark to Las Vegas in hopes of finding those few quality bench players that were missing from the squad last season.
With the looming contract of Otto Porter, if he does not resign with the Wizards, where do they fill the gaps? They will have plenty to look at at that point as he will become a huge part of whether they are able to keep Wall on a long term deal.
The Wizards will go with three players that were on their roster from 2016-17, but since they didn’t make any moves in the Draft or via trade, many of the other players are invites with a chance to make the training camp roster for October.
Other teams that bare watching this summer are as follows.
Sacramento Kings
Yes, it’s odd to put the Kings this high on any list, but they have had a really good offseason. Just check out who is on their Summer League roster — rookies De’Aaron Fox, Frank Mason III, Justin Jackson and Harry Giles as well as second-year player Buddy Hield.
Milwaukee Bucks
The Bucks are another promising young team, and there are recognizable names expected to be in Las Vegas, including former UNLV player Rashad Vaughn. One-time UNLV recruit Thon Maker also is on the roster, as is Spring Valley High School graduate Gary Payton II.
Los Angeles Lakers
With the exit of Nick Young from the team, it very well could be the Ball show, but we shall see how his Big Baller attitude fairs in the summer games. Get ready for these games.
Below is the Wizards upcoming Summer League roster, which kicks on on Saturday for them with two more preliminary games on Monday and Tuesday with a final game against the Bulls at 630pm EST
