Washington, D.C–

It’s that time of year again, the regular season. While its the end of the road for some Wizards players, its the start of a fresh season coming up this Friday, that many have been waiting for all summer long.

On Saturday, the team announced the release of forward Lavoy Allen as well as guards Chris Chiozza, Tiwian Kendley and Chasson Randle. The Wizards now have 14 players on the main roster, one below the league maximum. That does not include Devin Robinson and Jordan McRae, who are on two-way contracts and will spend the majority of the season with the G League affiliate, Capital City Go-Go.

The four waived players will also move on to the Go-Go.

With the addition of the G League team, the Wizards are also able to keep some of these players close and develop them into additions that could possibly help the team in the absence of a bench player later in the season.

There were no surprises for the Wizards as these players were the ones most targeted to be moved after the final pre-season game against the Long Lions.

Chiozza, Kendly and Randle signed the new Exhibit 10 contracts where each player can receive a bonus, but not a pro-rated salary at the NBA level for the games they play. The $50,000 bonus is if they sign and play at least 60 days with the G0-Go.
