Washington, D.C–

For the second time in a week, the Clippers face the Wizards and they find a fourth quarter way to outlast them in the end. Today it was a set of free throws by James Harden that ended this game in a way that left Wizards fans scratching their heads.]

In the game in LA, the Clippers had Kawhi Leonard in the line-up along with James Harden, but today it was Harden that was able to deliver the final blow ending a solid second half run by the Wizards.

Harden made two free throws with 36.9 seconds left to give the Clippers a 108-106 lead, and after each team traded scoreless possessions, Kyshawn George missed a 3-pointer for Washington. Harden was fouled with 5.9 seconds left. At that point, he was 18 for 18 from the line, but he missed both free throws and gave Wizards life.

After the misses the rebound bounced towards Alex Sarr and the Wizards however Harden was able capture the ball and then hit his next two therefore ending the MLK Day game for the Wizards.

Sarr led the way for the Wizards with 28 points and George finished with 18 points.

Strangely, the Clippers were able to pull this game off despite shooting a dismal 5 for 28 from long range.

What also stands out in this game is that Clippers got 21 points off of turnovers and also won the battle of points in the paint, 60-38. Brian Keefe needs to find a better way to cut down on the turnovers late in the game, this was a huge problem again tonight when the game was close.

Next up for the Wizards, Denver on Thursday night. Denver has won the last for out of 5 games, including a victory over the Wizards this past Saturday night.
