Washington, D.C–
We talked to a few fans that were disappointed that Steph Curry was out of the line-up tonight for their match-up against the Wizards, but others said they just wanted to see Trae Young continue to evolve with the younger players in the line-up. Unfortunately, tonight ended up close as quite aa few of the games in the fourth quarter have, but the Wizards fell short to Golden State, 125-117.
Logically coming into the game tonight it seemed that the Wizards may have finally had an advantage over the Warriers with healthy players as Golden State was without Stephen Curry (right knee) and Jimmy Butler (torn right ACL), and Seth Curry (left groin) and Al Horford (left calf strain), but that didn’t stop Draymond Green and Kristaps Porzingis from getting to the basket when they needed to late in the game.
Former Wizard, Porzingis led the way for the Warriors with 30 points, which helped the Warriors snap a 5-game losing streak.
If the Wizards are going to make a push for the worst spot in the NBA, losing games has to be a priority at this point as we are down to less than 30 days remaining in the regular season and the Indiana Pacers are still in last place after losing 13 straight games to the Wizards 12 straight after tonight.
Trae Young continues to show why the Wizards brought him to D.C as he scored 21 points in 21 minutes. They have continued to limit his minutes but will continue to evaluate his playing time in this home series, which continues tomorrow night against Detroit. This will be the first of two back-to-back games against the Pistons this week.
Other notables from this game include Warriors Head Coach picking up his 600th career victory tonight.
