Jacksonville, FL–

By now anyone who is a music fan of the Disco era and beyond knows the music of the legendary KC and the Sunshine Band and they made a stop at the Jacksonville Theatre and they did not disappoint.

Founded by Harry Wayne Casey in 1973 just a few hundred miles to the south in Hialeah, Florida, KC and the Sunshine band set the music scene on fire in the late 70’s and into the early 80’s they’ve sold more than 100 million records, received nine Grammy nominations and won three Grammys and an American Music Award. It’s no wonder why the show packed tons of favorites from all of those years and had the almost sold-out historic downtown venue standing and dancing almost the entire night.

Casey, who said prior to the start of this tour his shows are all about having fun and he really gets the fans into his shows through the band and lets says this band with mostly new members from the original line-up packs a punch all night long.

With more than a dozen people on stage, there are times during shows, KC said, that he exits the stage for a few minutes to shine a spotlight on the contributions of other members between the smash hit’s fans love. Every one of these current members have this show sounding just as good as it has for the last 49 years.

The band’s show is unique fusion of R&B and funk changed the sound of pop music with a string of hits that included in the set tonight “Get Down Tonight,” “That’s The Way (I Like It)” and “Shake Your Booty.”

Casey poked fun that he has slowed down and if you expected the same guy dancing all over the stage that part of the show left 25 years ago.

With so many hits that we all know from the years, KC and the Sunshine Band is a must see while they are out on tour. Being able to see them in their home state only made us love this band even more. Cranking out all of the hits 50 years later. So, grab your 70’s inspired outfits… we saw quite a few and head on out and see this legendary band that has had so much an inspiration on modern music as we know it.
